Self cancellation feature (MVP)

Find out more about our newest feature - self cancellation.

We have news to share! The first version of our self cancellation feature is out and we'd like to get your feedback on it.

First of all, what is a Minimum Viable Product - MVP?

A MVP has just enough functionality to be usable, with the aim to collect more feedback from the users and decide about the next necessary steps to improve it.

The self cancellation MVP

  • You can add a placeholder {basket.self.cancellation.url} to the confirmation email send to your customer
  • We defined a default cut-off time of 24 hours. This means, only trips that are not within a range of 24 hours before the trip starts can be cancelled
  • Self cancellation only applies to bookings that have a zero price. Also bookings with addons, shop items, etc. are excluded from it for now.
  • The customer will get forwarded to a cancellation page (available in 4 languages), where he/she will see whether the booking falls under the conditions of self cancellation (e.g. within the 24 hours cut-off time, zero price booking)
  • Once the customer clicked the "cancel" button, the cancellation is processed. In the Admin Desk - Booking Details, you'll see a cancellation entry in history of payments that indicates that this booking was self cancelled by your customer
  • Please note: There is no cancellation being sent out to you (as provider) or your customer.
