Create an activity

Creating your activities, or inventory as we also call it, is the first step to setting up your TrekkSoft account. The inventory is the foundation to your business and without it, you will not be able to sell your trips online. To make sure your activities are bookable, you’ll also need to add schedules and prices to it. A schedule lets your customers know what dates and times they can book your activities and the price lets them know what you charge for it. Once this is done, your activity can be made available for your customers to book. In this post you’ll learn how to create an activity.

Let’s get started!

 

To create an activity, go to the navigation bar on the left and click on Inventory and then Activities. Click on Add Activity.

This will bring you to the Create Activity page.

Info (here’s where you enter the basic information about your trips)

Title - What’s your trip called? Keep it short and simple here.

Description -  Write a description of your activity. This is your chance to sell your trip and to give your reader an idea of what to expect. Make sure it’s interesting, fun and free of grammatical errors. When in doubt, get someone else to read this section and give you feedback.

Departure City - Enter the location where your tour or activity will depart from and then "Select the nearest big city" from the menu. If you want to, you can drag the pointer to indicate a specific departure point within your selected city.

 

Additional Information (optional, but recommended for a greater customer experience)

The following options are available in the Addition Information section:

Is active? - Check this box if you want this activity to be available for bookings.

Highlights - List, in bullet points, why this trip is special.

Itinerary - Tell your customers about the route of your trip. Tell them about the sights and sounds they’ll experience with you.

Inquiry - If checked, customers can inquire about this trip, even if there is no bookable schedule.

Confirm/Charge later - Check this box if you want to manually confirm a booking before the system charges a customer’s credit card. This feature only works with TrekkPay.

Route - Plot on a map the route you’ll be taking on this trip.

Activity Category - Choose a category suitable for this activity. If you’re using TrekkSoft’s website builder, this will be used in the Activity Finder and will make it easier for your customers to find what they’re looking for.

Inoperative with discount codes - If checked, customers will not be able to redeem gift codes with this trip.

Is eligible for package discount? - Package discount is a percentage discount that is granted if a customer books multiple, different activities or accommodations. Checking this box enables this package discount. Read about how you can adjust the discount here.

 

Finish off by adding images or files to your activities. Give your customers as much information as they need to help them make their purchase decision.

Don’t forget to click ‘Save’ once you’re done

Note: Depending on how far you have come in your set up the tabs in “Create Activity” might vary. Some can only see the “Info” and the “Additional Info” tab. “Images/Files” will appear once you’ve saved the two main information tabs. The flag (which indicates the language of your page), “Taxes” and “Resources” will be available once you have added these features to your account.
