Integrate Smartwaiver to start using digital waivers

What is Smartwaiver? 

Smartwaiver provides businesses a powerful, reliable, and user-friendly digital waiver solution that helps you easily collect waivers from customers.The platform converts your waivers into electronic documents that customers can sign ahead of time. Customers can sign directly from any computer, tablet, mobile device or a dedicated on-site tablet. 

TrekkSoft's integration with Smartwaiver allows you to incorporate waivers into your overall booking process.

With Smartwaiver, you'll no longer need to worry about missing clipboards, missing waiver details, and waiver storing issues. Forget about printing waivers and let your customers effortlessly sign them at at their convenience.

 

How to create a digital waiver with Smartwaiver?

You will need to have a Smartwaiver account to include digital waivers as part of your booking process. Follow these steps to configure your first waiver in Smartwaiver system. 
 
1. Go to http://smartwaiver.com/ to create an account.
 
2. You'll be asked to either use the waiver you already have or to create a new waiver (I've created screenshots below to walk you through creating a new waiver).

3. Enter the title and header text for your first waiver.

4. Provide the content for your waiver.

5. Under "Participant's Info", specify what fields you want your guests to fill in when signing a waiver. We recommend only asking for necessary guest data (remember that you can also collect guest data with TrekkSoft's checkout process).

6. Make sure to select "Waiver Autotag" to allow customers who have booked different activities to access all their waivers. 
 
Other options in this steps are not necessary for TrekkSoft configuration.

7. Wavier Fields allow you to add additional fields in your waiver, as well as an electronic signature for consent. This step is not necessary for the TrekkSoft configuration.

8. Customise waiver colours and publish your waiver. You are now ready to integrate this waiver with your TrekkSoft booking process.

How to integrate Smartwaiver with your TrekkSoft account?

Integration Smartwaiver is very easy and will only take you 2 minutes to complete. Go to Settings > Apps in your TrekkSoft dashboard, find the Smartwaiver widget there and click on Configure. You'll be asked now to provide your unique API key from your Smartwaiver account. Note that we require API key version 4 (V4) for this integration.

Follow these steps to create API key V4 in your Smartwaiver account. 

1. Go to Support.

2. Type in "API" in the searh bar.

3. Select API.

4. Select Create an API Key.

5. Give the application an internal name and click Create.

6. Copy your unique API key.

7. Paste it into the field below. Select "yes" from the drop-down menu and save it.

8. Now, select the templates you have created in Smartwaiver and allocate them to your activities. Click on Add Template to get started.

9. Add your activities to the templates.

10. After allocating the templates to your activities, your Smartwaiver configuration should look something like this.

11. Lastly, add SmartWaiver placeholders to the Trip order finished email template so your guests can click on the link and sign the waiver when they receive their activity tickets.

Note that the email is always ONLY sent to the person who booked and paid for the trip. So if there are more guests that need to sign the waiver, it's the buyer's responsibility to share the link with other participants.

We've created the {waiverDisclaimer} placeholder that informs the buyer about this, so we recommend to add it to the email template as well.

Note: Digital waiver signage laws can differ from country to country, therefore we strongly recommend to consult with your legal adviser before creating your waivers.
